One of the most important ways to be successful in nursing school, or just school in general is staying organized! My favorite way to organize is to use a planner calendar to write down all my assignments. I know it is cliche but that is only because it really works! For my personal planner I use multicolored pens for writing in assignments. I have one color designated to each of my classes so I can glance at my calendar and know which class an assignment belongs. When I complete an assignment I use a highlighter of the same color as the class pen to mark it complete. I use black ink for things I need to do that are not part of my classes. Here is a picture of my calendar for a week.
I update my calendar for the next week every Saturday or Sunday. I find my calendar is more helpful when I carry it with me everywhere I go, however, I have recently discovered that I can take a picture of my schedule for the week so I know what is due while I'm on the go. Having a picture also gives me to opportunity to study for things that are due using the flash cards I make using the study blue app on my phone. Another app I would recommend is to use Quizlet practice exams for the subject you are studying. Both of these apps are great because they allow you to use flash cards and practice exams created by other students who have been where you are now. Using these apps allows me to study whenever I have free time like in the grocery store line, while I'm on the phone, or when you arrive somewhere unacceptably early. The mountain of nursing school may seem insurmountable but God will provide you with the strength.
